The ArAGATS Scholars' Program is a collaboration between Project Discovery and Project ArAGATS.  The program emerges in response to a critical shortage of young archaeologists in Armenia who can assume responsibility for investigating and preserving Armenia’s cultural heritage in the decades to come.  Creating opportunities for young scholars to interact with archaeologists abroad, to learn new methods and theories, and to tap into the cutting-edge archaeological research practiced in the US will be a critical element of the revival and renovation of Armenia’s archaeological sector.  These scholars will return to Armenia with new ideas and an expanded international network of colleagues, which is so critical to scholarly advancement. They will be better equipped to reinvigorate the study of Armenia’s past in the 21st century.
