Christine A. Derdarian (B.A., Sociology; Juris Doctor) spent 28 years with the Michigan Attorney General’s office as a criminal and civil trial lawyer. She served as a cabinet member to two attorneys general; managed a staff of attorneys in the area of labor law enforcement and helped to draft the Attorney General’s Ethics Handbook. Now in private practice, Ms. Derdarian has served as chief legal counsel to the transition team for Governor-Elect Jennifer Granholm, as a special advisor to the Governor and represents private clients in the area of labor law and alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Derdarian has been active in professional and community organizations, serving on the Board and as president of the Women's Economic Club of Detroit, The International Institute of Detroit and the Michigan Chapter of the International Women's Forum. She has also served on the Board of the Detroit Institute for Children and the Haven. She has served on several boards of the State Bar of Michigan and was appointed recently by Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve as a member of the Michigan Board of Ethics.

Ms. Derdarian is fluent in Armenian and conversant in French.
